Executed between 1940s and the 1950s, the early works for the most part consist of oil paintings influenced both by French post-impressionist painters – in particular Cézanne and Roualt- and Picasso. We also find a series of abstract works (created between circa 1945 and 1952) realised on paper and thin board during this period.
